The Lower Ewaso Ng'iro South River Multipurpose Dam Development Project (LENSDEP) consists of a three cascaded dams development. It will also involve a transfer scheme from Amala River to the headwaters of the Ewaso Ng'iro South River. The economic life for this project is expected to last for more than 100 years. The main components include the following: 1. Amala transfer scheme. 2. 3 Cascaded Dams 3. Hydropower with a potential of 180 MW. 4. Irrigation of 4,500Ha 5. Community Water Supply to 350,000 equivalent inhabitants 6. Environmental Conservation of 3,000Ha 7. Fisheries and Eco-tourism development
