Summary

The Comprehensive Mother and Child Care Unit (CMCU) is a proposed integrated healthcare facility designed to deliver holistic care for mothers and children, covering prenatal and postnatal services, safe childbirth, immunizations, pediatric care, family planning, nutrition support, and maternal mental health. Beyond clinical services, the unit will provide education and counseling on breastfeeding, infant care, and community-based health practices to reduce maternal and child morbidity and mortality. The project will leverage modern healthcare innovations, including telemedicine for remote consultations, and expand preventive health programs. With a focus on sustainability, the unit will also address social determinants of health such as nutrition, sanitation, and maternal education. By easing congestion in existing healthcare facilities and offering specialized services, the CMCU will improve health outcomes and attract more clients, especially in underserved communities. The project requires USD 1.43 million to establish and operationalize the facility, with funds allocated to infrastructure, medical equipment, staffing, and digital health solutions.
