Summary

The Olokyin Comprehensive School Improvement project in Kipreres Ward, Bomet East Constituency, Kenya, was initiated to address the lack of accessible, quality education in the region. Founded 14 years ago by a local family, the academy grew as more parents from the community sought a closer, reliable school for their children, especially as public primary schools in the area struggled with poor performance. Currently, the school operates on half an acre of land with 156 students and 10 staff, but the growing community demand and high dropout rates have prompted the need for expansion. The project aims to improve and expand the academy’s facilities to accommodate 550 students and 30 staff members. This includes constructing two new classrooms, a library, a computer lab, and acquiring a minibus for student transportation. The primary purpose is to provide quality education to underprivileged children from low-income families and vulnerable backgrounds in the Kipreres area. The expansion will empower the community through education, reduce poverty, and improve literacy rates. The project is expected to begin in June 2024 with completion targeted by February 2025, The Olokyin Comprehensive School Improvement project offers essential educational services, focusing on underprivileged children in Kipreres ward, Bomet East Constituency The project’s main offerings include expanded educational infrastructure with new classrooms, a library, a computer lab, and transportation services via a minibus.
