Gatamaiyu Dam is a proposed water supply project, located along the Gatamaiyu River about 2.5Km North West of Kambururu Shopping Centre. The project target areas are Ruiru, Juja & Githunguri in Kiambu County. The project seeks to supply an additional 32,000 m3/day of water to these areas serving 600,000 residents. The target areas of Ruiru, Juja and Githunguri currently experience inadequate water supply due to rapid population growth over the years. This deficit will be curbed through supply of the additional 32,000m3/day of water to the target areas in the following proportions. The Project is estimated to cost USD 140M and is to be implemented over a period of five (5) years
