Kamiti 1 Dam is a proposed water supply project, located along Kamiti River. The project target areas are Kikuyu, Lari and Limuru in Kiambu County. The project seeks to supply an additional 16,500m3/day of water to these areas serving 250,000 residents. The existing water schemes which are all pumping schemes have a total production capacity 9,677m3/day. The present water demand is estimated at 30,661m3/day. Therefore the project will be able to meet 85% of the total water demand at the present. The Project is estimated to cost USD 32M and is to be implemented over a period of five (5) years
