Wind Power development is the most viable resource due to the landscape and the wind corridors in the county. The Ministry of Energy conducted a series of feasibility studies in Kenya that was targeted at mapping out various potential wind sites in the country. They set up wind masts in potential regions to collect wind data resource in the country to help for future investment in the technology. TaitaTaveta County has two masts, one in Tsavo Park and the other in Taveta Sub County which were solely set up by the Ministry of Energy. This highlights the need for further site specific investigations to be carried out around the region that should be sufficiently detailed enough to provide energy generation and capacity estimates using the already existing resources from the ministry
